Joe Downtown: Electric Daisy Promoter Told To Stay Away From His Downtown Clubs

Pasquale Rotella, who’s Insomniac Inc. runs the popular Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, has been banned from the city center to visit two clubs in which he is an investor.

The City Council approved a one-year extension of the tavern licenses limited to the park in Fremont, bar and restaurant, and the Commonwealth, a tavern Wednesday. But the extension came with the stipulation that Rotella stay away from the club for a year.

Rotella, who is married to animator / model / producer Holly Madison, is one of several business partners. Others appearing in applications are Justin Weniger, Ryan Doherty, Michael Parks and Kenna Warner.

Las Vegas Councilman Bob Coffin said the condition was placed on Rotella while awaiting trial on charges of bribery and conspiracy to embezzle an unrelated case in California.

Rotella and two others were accused of making payments to the principal events of Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for easier access to the Coliseum concert.

At Wednesday's meeting, Coffin said Rotella
"has to stay out of these properties, you must have nothing to do with them."

Later the coffin reiterated the point, saying, "That is agreed."

“Yes," replied the Rotella representative at the meeting, attorney David Brown.

Coffin said the two downtown properties “are good clubs, and they are right in the heart of East Fremont, and people I know who members of these clubs are are good people. Presented well and have done everything possible to run an honest business. "

Electric Daisy Carnival Rotella, meanwhile, will be held for the fourth year at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway from June 20 to 22. The website of the festival of electronic dance music says general admission tickets and VIP are exhausted.

Because the festival is under the jurisdiction of Clark County, not the city, the County Commission approved.

The Las Vegas Motor Speedway is located in the district Commissioner Tom Collins. Collins said Thursday the county welcomes the Electric Daisy Carnival with open arms. In some cases, he said, the city “is so overreaching.”
